NICE (National Institute for Care and Excellence) is carrying out research on MRI guided ultrasound treatment of the brain for tremors.

They are looking at how well the procedure is working and if it is safe enough to be used more widely in the NHS in the future.

If you have had MRI guided ultrasound treatment of the brain for tremors, NICE would like to invite you to provide feedback on your experience of it by completing a survey. If this is a procedure that you have not had, please do not complete this survey.

This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

About MRI guided ultrasound treatment of the brain for tremors

Essential tremor has no known cause but may get worse with time and be resistant to ultrasound treatment of the brain for tremors.

This procedure uses a special head frame that allows the delivery of focused ultrasound to destroy brain tissue under MRI guidance. The aim is to reduce the patient’s tremor.
