We catchup with Alan who is running the London Marathon for the NTF to see how his training is getting on.

My training has been going great, exactly to plan actually.

I still run most lunchtime during the week, 5 miles, and then at the weekends I have been going on much longer runs.

A few weeks ago I ran 16 miles and then 2 weeks ago I ran 20 miles. It’s was tough, and the last few miles were a killer, but at least now I have had practice of running long distance.

I think that the crowds on the day will help me along!

Now I’m actually ‘tapering’ which means that my training is easing off and next week I don’t plan to run very much at all.

I’ll start eating lots of carbs from next Thursday and then I’ll head up to London on Saturday.

I need to call into the Excel in London’s docklands to collect my running number on Saturday afternoon and then that’s everything done.

I can’t wait now actually, all the training has been done I just can’t wait to run the marathon.

I’m going to enjoy every minute of it!

Also the fundraising has been incredible, at the minute the total is £1094 (£1262 including gift aid) and still rising!!
