Your donations really help
The NTF depends on donations, sponsorship and contributions in order to carry out its work helping people with all types of tremor including those with essential tremor and orthostatic tremor.
‘The NTF Journey’ uses a virtual journey for any and all participants to plot their collectives miles along a nationwide route that every participant can follow. During the Coronavirus pandemic, with social distancing measures in place it is not possible to come together to participate in a group venture, the journey enables participants to walk, run, cycle etc within their own safe setting, whether that be within their own garden or in the local area. Each participant can keep a personal track of the miles they are travelling weekly but they will register these miles on a central record that counts the total distance of all participants.
The journey has regular points of interest along the nationwide route so that our participants have small goals / milestones on a regular basis to help encourage, motivate and engage. We perceive that participants will submit photographs or short video clips of themselves and their families engaging in their exercise activity but may also link photographs etc of the places we travel through on our virtual route.
The first of these will be Highclere Castle, which is just 100 miles into our journey. Participant will be encouraged to celebrate this milestone by taking part in a virtual afternoon tea at Downton Abbey. In reality, some people will send in photographs of themselves engaged in their version of a ‘Downton’ afternoon tea. These will then be shared with the whole group to engage and encourage fun and participation in the upcoming milestones along the way.
