Raising awareness in Waltham Abbey
Jackie Farrell, NTF Support Groups Coordinator reflects on the Essential Tremor Awareness Day dropin at Waltham Abbey.
The Essential Tremor Awareness Day dropin at Waltham Abbey Town Hall 2nd April was well received. The event came about because Ted standing in photo, his daughter is Town Clerk at Waltham Abbey Town Hall.
The dropin coincided with a craft fair taking place in the main hall of venue. The free teas and coffees were in the room I was in, so stall holders and visitors could pick up leaflets as well as a cuppa!
3 of the craft fair stall holders who dropped by our table either knew someone with tremors or had it themselves. Interesting the other 12 stallholders had never heard of Essential Tremor so it was definitely a great day for raising ET awareness! I did try to tempt people to the table with miniature Easter eggs
It was lovely to also meet Andy (seated) at the dropin. Andy had seen the event listed on NTF social media pages and was keen to come along for a chat. Along with Ted (standing) helping me on the day, the three of us were able to share our daily challenges living with ET!
Thank you, Waltham Abbey Town Hall, for making us feel welcome 😊
