Fifteen people squeezed into St Michael’s room
Fifteen people squeezed into St Michael’s room for our meeting today. It was very exciting to welcome five new members – four of whom were ‘shakers’ plus one supportive wife. One couple had driven all the way from Wales because the trains were not running. Two further people had expressed interest but were unable to attend today. There has been a resurgence of interest following the BBC news report , if you haven’t seen it, you might be able to read here.
The new members shared their shaky stories with us and each expressed how reassuring it was to meet with others and realise that they were not alone.
Others in the group updated us on their current situations and it seems that there is an extremely long wait to see a neurologist at present. One member had actually seen the elusive Mr Vajrimani. Sadly, Jillian, who had an appointment with him was seen by a physiotherapist instead.
All in all, it was a very interesting meeting and good to have so many people with us.
We next meet on Saturday 6th December when our usual room is not available. There is a Christmas Tree Festival in St Thomas’s to which some might like to attend. We will then go for lunch in Charlie’s. Nearer the time I will ask people to confirm if they wish to have lunch so I can tell Charlie’s how many are coming.
