Salisbury support group organiser Sheelagh Wurr reflects on the Salisbury Shakers August meet-up.

We were delighted to welcome Dave Daly to our group today, together with his wife, Pam. (Dave is the third David/Dave to join the group – has there been any research to suggest that men of that name are more susceptible to having ET?!)  Although I had received seven apologies, nine people attended in all, so we were a good group and were able to have some interesting discussions.

As a group we have decided to use the £50 we were given for some research, to subsidise Sunflower lanyards for any members of the group who would find it useful.  Andrew had kindly researched this for us and brought along a sample.  Sheelagh will request the £50 which had been paid into the Tremor Foundation account, and buy some in time for the next meeting.  The Tremor Foundation card fits in the pouch.

Dave (Daly) told us about his experience of Focused Ultrasound, which was interesting.  We also discussed VAT exemption for certain goods, obtaining a signature stamp from the bank and Jillian told us of her experience with a special card provided by the bank, which had only limited use as the signature rubbed off too easily.

David (Miles) recounted the sad tale of trying to renew his car tax at the Post Office, which involved him putting trying to put in his PIN with disastrous results.  Several members could sympathise!

Jillian told us about her visit to Southampton Hospital where she was assessed for Focused Ultrasound.  She has not yet heard the outcome.

We hope to meet again on October 12th.  I will confirm when I have booked the room.

Sheelagh
