To close 2025 with something slightly different, Sutton Shakers meetup on 6^th December was a dropin event at Holiday Inn, Sutton. 16 attendees popped in between 11am-2pm. December being a busy month for Christmas shopping this worked well for people to combine shopping and popping by to our dropin for a coffee or if they chose a bite to eat as well. Discussions were mainly about the Essential Tremor PSP survey, but as usual there was lots of banter on various topics including discussing the wellbeing device “Beechband”. I explained that I would have some to hand out at the January meeting for people to test at home.

17 Sutton Shakers met up for our first meeting of the New Year on 16^th January at Holiday Inn, Sutton. This was back to our usual lunchtime meetup format of 12 midday. We welcomed new member Chrissy and there were apologies from 7 others unable to attend. Sadly, no photos ☹

The main topic was the PSP Essential Tremor Final Survey as it closed on January 31^st.

The next topic was the Beechband. I had 8 bands to hand out to anyone who was interested in taking them home to test for 6 weeks. All 8 were taken and we wait to hear how they get on at our next meetup on 6^th March.

Other topics included when our tremors were at their best during the day.  12 people took part and the results were as follows:  8 were better in the evening, 2 better in the morning and 2 it made no difference.

I spoke about Wellbeing and how breath awareness meditation can help calm the nervous system, that was followed by a guided practice for anyone in the group to try.

The hotel staff look after us well which all helps to make it a relaxing and friendly environment.
