Salisbury support group organiser Sheelagh reflects on the Salisbury Shakers meet-up held on 6th December

Shakers in Charlies café 2The Salisbury Shakers at Charlie’s café

Eleven Shakers descended on Charlie’s café for lunch on Saturday.  Some had visited the Christmas Tree Festival beforehand in St Thomas’s, which was lovely, despite being very crowded.

Four people were unable to come for lunch at the last minute because of illness.  We were delighted to welcome Martin who joined us for the first time. Pam and Dave went to the wrong branch of Charlies (because I am rubbish at giving directions!) but found us eventually.  Poor Richard, travelling from Chepstow, had a terrible journey, as his train threw everyone out at Bristol because there was a tree on the line.  Richard gains the award for perseverance as he kept going and managed to get to Salisbury by a circuitous route and arrived only an hour late!

However, it was an enjoyable meeting despite the café being very crowded and noisy.

Jillian reported that she had actually met Mr Vajramati and could report that he is still hoping to come and talk to our group one Saturday.

Richard had purchased a Beechband, having seen one at the previous meeting.  However, he did not feel any benefit from it and intends to return it.  Sheelagh reported  she had heard from Jackie that someone from the Beechband team might be planning to give members of support groups opportunities to trial the product.  Apparently, it is advised to try it for 6 weeks to give it time to work.

A very patient member of the café staff took some photos for us. Unfortunately, though, the quality is poor.

Dates of the next three meetings are as follows:

January 10th

February 14th

March 21st

These are NOT the dates we provisionally made on Saturday because the room was not free on two of the dates.

Happy Christmas, everyone!

Sheelagh
