Salisbury support group organiser Sheelagh Wurr reflects on the Salisbury Shakers October meet-up.

We had a good turnout for our meeting today.  Twelve members of the Salisbury Shakers attended and met in St Michael’s room after coffee, cheese scones and cakes.

We were pleased to welcome Alison Stone who had travelled all the way from Cardiff by train this morning to join us.  (Presumably, she had heard the rumours about the cheese scones.)  Alison is thinking about setting up a group in Cardiff and wanted to see how we operated.  Let’s hope we didn’t put her off!  She says that she has to produce all posters and information leaflets in Welsh as well as English or she is not allowed to display them.

Our new sunflower lanyards had arrived so everybody who wanted one was able to wear it for the photos.

As usual, discussion was interesting and covered a range of topics.  It is surprising – and quite worrying – to discover how many GPs still know next to nothing about ET.

We plan to hold our next meeting on November 11th.  I will confirm this when the secretary tells me if the room is available on that date.

Something to consider:  we were twelve in number today and almost filled the room.  If we continue to have such large numbers attending, we may need to look for somewhere else to meet.

Sheelagh
