The initiative was spearheaded by Angie Milford, a long-time advocate for essential tremor awareness. Angie, who has lived with essential tremor for 40 years, was initially misdiagnosed with severe nerves at the age of 21 and was prescribed Valium. Unsatisfied with this diagnosis, she persisted in seeking answers and was eventually referred to a neurologist, who diagnosed her with what was then called “benign essential tremor”.

Despite the challenges posed by her condition, Angie has great fun fundraising. She expressed her enthusiasm for the event and her eagerness to continue supporting the National Tremor Foundation in the future.

Mrs Gill’s Café has established a tradition of holding monthly bingo events to benefit various charities. This month’s focus on the National Tremor Foundation has not only raised funds but also heightened awareness about essential tremor and shows the power of community action.
