For individuals with medical conditions that cause hand tremors, such as essential tremor or Parkinson’s disease, using everyday items such as food utensils can be a struggle.  However, an emerging technology known as active cancellation of tremor (ACT) has made headlines with Google announcing that it was acquiring San Francisco health tech firm Lift Labs as part of its hardware and biotech plays.  Their product, called Liftware, resembles a spoon with an oversized handle that contains the electronic sensors designed to significantly counteract the hand tremors that make eating meals difficult.
