Jackie Farrell who leads Sutton Shakers support group reflects on their December meetup.

Sutton Shakers meetup on 7th December 2024 was unfortunately affected by the severe Storm Darragh. The disruption of public transport and cancellations meant many of the group were unable to travel, also for some it was too dangerous to go out on foot. However, seven brave souls ventured out for our Coffee and Chat meetup. We welcomed a new member Jeff who was pleased to meet others with Tremors.
 
Emerald, who joined us for the first time in October, shared with us how she saw a neurologist in the summer and how helpful they were.
 
The subject of writing was discussed and how over time our writing had deteriorated. Jackie had found that using an ice gel sleeve was helpful and improved her handwriting and Fiona added that she also has an ice gel sleeve and had noticed the same benefits. It was stressed that, with any assistive aids, what works for one person may not work for another.
 
Our next meeting will be 17th January 2025 at Holiday Inn, Sutton at 12:30pm. At this meetup we will also have a guest speaker from Age UK Sutton who will give a talk about their services in the community.
