Salisbury Shakers February meet-up
Salisbury support group organiser Sheelagh Wurr reflects on the Salisbury Shakers February meet-up.
Eight Salisbury Shakers met today for coffee in their usual meeting place. Warm cheese scones were once again on the menu so everyone was happy!
Another customer, passing by, asked if she could have some of our literature as she herself has a tremor. She might join us in the future.
We welcomed Janet who had hoped to bring her husband who has essential tremor. Unfortunately, he had a cold and was not well enough to come so Janet nobly came on his behalf.
Discussion was mainly around Focussed Ultrasound treatment and Deep Brain Stimulation as two members are on the waiting list for the former and Janet was on a fact finding mission for her husband. Chris was able to answer questions about his treatment and his wife, Sue was able to show us the photos.
We also talked about how to overcome embarrassment in social situations, particularly self service buffets.
After the meeting, some members went off together to have lunch.
The provisional date for our next meeting is 18th March, to be confirmed.
