Salisbury Support group organiser Sheelagh Wurr reflects on the Salisbury Shakers January meet-up.

On Saturday 7th January the Salisbury Shakers held their first meeting of the year.  We started with coffee in St Thomas’s and then moved to the quieter room where we had a helpful discussion about the challenges we face with essential tremor.  Learning to dictate texts on a mobile phone proved to be helpful for some members.

Panto 3
The Salisbury Shakers went to see the pantomime, Cinderella

We then walked to Fisherton Warehouse for lunch and then, seven of us met at the theatre to see the pantomime, Cinderella.  There should have been eight but poor Ruth was ill!

The panto was great fun and suitably updated for the twenty first century, with Cinderella being a feisty young woman who creates marvellous inventions, and the sisters who were ‘influencers’ called Hashtag and Viral.

The Salisbury Shakers even had a ‘shout out’ from the stage!  How could they have possibly known that we were there?

Our next meeting will be in St Thomas’s on Saturday 11th February at about 10.30am
