West Sussex Meet-up Group in August
Jackie Farrell who leads the West Sussex Shakers reflects on their August meetup.
Thirteen of the West Sussex Shakers met for a lunchtime meetup at the Roundstone Pub, East Preston. We were all delighted the same seating area as at our previous meetup had been reserved for our group.
We ordered our meals before starting the meetup. This gave time to share tremor news, events and updates while waiting for our food. Conversation topics included coping tips, DBS and FUS treatment experiences. Also, one of our members, who has Orthostatic Tremor, demonstrated the CUE 1, a device utilising a non-invasive, focused vibrotactile stimulation to improve movement. It is worth noting that with any device or treatment, what works for one person may not work for another and to seek professional advice on any medical treatments before making decisions.
Our meals arrived and we were served once again by Jordan who looked after us so well at the previous meetup. This time he even put into practice some of the things he remembered that would help us with eating and drinking!
There was plenty of social chat and banter
Throughout the afternoon there was plenty of social chat and banter which made it a warm, friendly and informal meetup.
We welcome new members and look forward to the next meeting (TBC).
