The National Tremor Foundation's 30 Days of June Challenge was a resounding success. This year, 28 dedicated participants took part in diverse and exciting activities ranging from walking and cycling to an adventurous fossil hunt.

Fossil hunter Alex said: “I’ve far exceeded my targets so far with nearly 67km walked and 160 fossils collected which I will try to sell to raise more cash. I’m not far off raising £1000 and I expect to exceed it. The fossils will take some considerable time to prepare and sell. I’m really glad I did the challenge, really enjoyed it and I think I have been able to raise awareness of essential tremor in the process.”

Nick Wilbourne said: “For me it was about awareness if only one person realises they may have ET then its been worth while”

Fiona Barker-Field from the Sutton Shakers Support Group said: “My 30 day challenge for the month of June was to walk 10,000 steps each day.  I did achieve this and thoroughly enjoyed doing so."

I had some lovely walks around the Surrey villages of Brockham, Betchworth and Buckland and also walked to Dorking on several occasions. I particularly enjoyed seeing all the beautiful wild flowers. I did experience some rather wet walks as well but went prepared with my umbrella.”

Jackie Farrell NTF Support Groups Coordinator said: " I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the NTF June 30 Day Challenge. My Challenge was to walk daily round our lawn spiral labyrinth. There was an added challenge of including a balance exercise while in the centre. This part was particularly challenging as our lawn is on an uneven slope and I have leg tremors! Most days it would be tree pose but on occasional days a more simple balance exercise. Couldn’t believe I managed to walk it daily without being caught in the rain! Looking forward to next NTF Challenge 😊."

The National Tremor Foundation aims to build on this success and looks forward to our next campaign.

Thank you once again to everyone who participated and raised awareness.
