Alex, who has essential tremor, shares his experience taking part in the 30 Days of June Challenge and fossil hunting.

For my NTF challenge I am going fossil hunting on the Holderness coast. I aim to walk at least 30km’s and find at least 30 collectable fossils.

I have 5 day trips in which to complete my task. I also intend to sell most, if not all, of the fossils to raise more funds. The fund raising is going really well so far and I have had very kind offers of free fossil preparation, lifts to the coast, accommodation and company on my hunts.  I am confident that I can cover the km’s but sometimes it can be difficult to find that many collectable fossils on the Holderness.  I will also face the challenges of the weather conditions, the vagaries of public transport, and the Tremors too.

Really happy to be doing something I love whilst raising funds for the NTF. Last year I wrote a blog for the NTF about my fossil hunting: In search of Tyrannosaur Featheri – fossil hunting for wellbeing.
