Thank you to those who have already made representations as part of the ongoing Essential Tremor Campaign.

If you have not yet had an opportunity to engage with your local Member of Parliament to raise concerns about the backlog of people waiting for treatment for Essential Tremor in England, please find more information about the letter writing campaign below.

A letter writing campaign is being organised to encourage patients to write to their local Member of Parliament to raise awareness of the need to improve access to MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) treatment centres and call on the Government to consider the creation of another MRgFUS treatment centre to fulfil the commissioning policy as laid out by the present Government. Members of Parliament will then be encouraged to write to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Steve Barclay MP, to seek clarity on the number of patients waiting for treatment in England; what processes are in place to increase GP and neurologist awareness of MRgFUS treatment; and whether the Government will consider the opening of further MRgFUS treatment centres to fulfil the commissioning policy as laid out by the present Government, and improve patient access to the MRgFUS treatment.
